Daha büyük bir gövdeye ve daha kaliteli bir üretime sahip olan yeni Polo aynı zamanda daha gelişmiş motorlarla da donatılacak. Son derece zarif çizgilere sahip olan yeni Polo 2008’in sonlarında satışa çıkacak olan Ford Fiesta ve Honda Jazz gibi güçlü rakiplere de meydan okuyacak.
Aslında yeni Golf’ün fotoğraflarını görenler yeni Polo’nun tasarım ruhunu kimden aldığını çok iyi anlayabilirler. Ayrıca VW’nun son konsepti Up! ile birlikte gördüğümüz çizgilerin özellikle ailelerin tercihleri göz önüne alınarak yeni Pola’ya da taşındığı görülüyor.Yeni Polo şık burun kısmı sportif farları ve çift çıtadan oluşan ön ızgarası ile selefine göre çok daha büyük duruyor. Klas bir şekilde arkaya doğru uzanan bel kısmı ve Tiguan’a benzeyen arka lamba grubu da Polo’nun göze çarpan diğer detayları olarak sıralanabilir.
Özellikle yeni Fiesta’da ortaya çıkan evrimi Polo’dan bekliyorsanız yanılırsınız. Çünkü Polo’nun müşteri kitlesi göz önünde bulundurularak yeni nesil Polo’da çok radikal bir değişim tercih edilmemiş. Buna rağmen boyu dört metreyi bulan yeni Polo oldukça geniş bir iç hacme kavuşmuş.
Tavanı daha da yükselen yeni Polo belki de VW’nin ürün gamına küçük bir kardeşin daha geleceğini haber veriyor olabilir. Kalite olarak da kendini bir hayli geliştiren yeni Polo içeride kullanılan plastik malzemeden tutun da ipeği andıran ön konsol tasarımına kadar birçok detayda Golf’e yaklaşmış görünüyor. İncelen koltuk yapıları sayesinde içerideki diz mesafesi de büyümüş.
Selefindeki süspansiyon sistemi geliştirilerek yeni Polo’ya taşınırken elektrik motorlu hidrolik direksiyon sistemi de yeni otomobil de bulunacak.
Yeni Polo’da daha önceden de kullanılan 1.2 lt üç silindirli geliştirilmiş 60 HP veya 70 HP güç üreten motor 1.4 lt 85 HP ve 1.2 lt süper turbo 105 HP motorlar görev yapacak. Ayrıca 75 HP 90 HP veya 105 HP güç üreten 1.6 lt common-rail TDI dizel motorunda yeni Polo’da kullanılması bekleniyor. Çevreci 1.4 lt 80 HP motora sahip olan Bluemotion versiyonun yanı sıra performans tutkunlarını fazlasıyla heyecanlandıracak 1.4 lt 170 HP turbo şarjlı TSI motora sahip GTI versiyonu da yeni Polo’nun ürün gamı içerisinde yer alacak. Şasi yapısı da bir hayli güçlendirilen yeni Polo Renaultsport Clio ve Opel Corsa’dan aşağı kalmayacak bir performansı şimdiden müjdeliyor.
Üstelik hepsi bu kadar da değil yeni Polo’nun kaputunun altında 135 HP güç üreten bir TDI dizel motor da bulunacak. Yeni Polo’nun birçok versiyonunda 6 vitesli şanzıman bulunurken ilk defa VW’nin çift kavramalı yarı otomatik DSG şanzımanı da opsiyonel olarak sunulacak.
Fiyatı şu anki versiyon ile aynı olacak olan Yeni Polo ‘nun satışına 2009’un ortalarında başlanacak.

Rendering: Next Generation VW Polo Will Arrive In 2009
The new PQ25 platform from Volkswagen has already allowed two new vehicles to appear, the new generations of Skoda Fabia and, more recently, Seat Ibiza. Audi will also use it for its A1, based on the Metroproject Quattro Concept, but one of the main products this base will serve is doubtlessly the new Polo. Expected to arrive next year, it may be presented at the Geneva Motor Show or at IAA, in Frankfurt, but the Swiss city is more prone to be honoured with this compact car premiere. Whatever the waiting period will be, our friends at Infomotori.com have already uncovered the new vehicle with these nice renderings. Besides the images that illustrate this article, they have made many other colour variations that are worth taking a look at.
These Polo renderings confirm the information we already had about the car. It gets styling cues from Scirocco and up!, the future Lupo. As we have said, Polo will use the PQ25 platform, nothing else than an evolution of the platform used by the nowadays Polo, Fox and Gol, in Brazil, the PQ24.
The new car will very likely present the same engines that are being adopted in the rest of Volkswagen’s range, such as the 1,4-litre TFSI, which may be in many versions of the car, including the GTI. Besides this engine, it will also feature the new 1.6-litre TDI. Both engines will probably be mated with the new seven-speed DSG gearbox, offered as an optional for the newly introduced Ibiza. Besides Europe, some other countries, such as Brazil and China, will also have the right to produce the car. Announcements will soon be heard all over the word.
